When is a shoe the right choice over a boot?
Indoors, on even floors, and where people are in and out of a vehicle all day. A shoe is cooler, lighter and quicker to put on. Choose a boot instead wherever the ground is uneven, wet or cluttered, because an unsupported ankle is what turns a stumble into time off.
Are these smart enough for a customer-facing role?
Some are. Occupational styles include brogues and plain lace-ups that read as ordinary shoes, which suits drivers, engineers visiting sites and anyone who moves between the workshop and the front desk. Check the product page for the certification, because occupational footwear is not always certified to the same standard as a safety shoe.
