What do the markings on safety glasses mean?
EN 166 codes what the lens survives. Optical class runs 1 to 3, with 1 suitable for continuous wear. Impact is graded by letter: F for low energy, B for medium, A for high. Extra digits cover specific risks, such as 3 for liquids, 4 for large dust and 8 for electric arc.
Clear, smoke or amber lens?
Clear for indoors and general work. Smoke for outdoor glare. Amber lifts contrast in poor light and is the one people pick for dull winter mornings. None of them changes the impact rating, which is set by the lens construction.
Do you do glasses that fit over prescription specs?
Coverspecs do exactly that and are in their own section under PPE. They are designed to be worn over ordinary glasses rather than instead of them.
