What do the four numbers on an EN 388 glove mean?
Abrasion, cut, tear and puncture, each scored on its own scale, and newer gloves add a letter for the TDM cut test under EN ISO 13997 running A to F. Higher is more resistant. A glove marked 4131 is not better than 3121 at everything, only at the tests where the digit is higher.
Where do PU gloves work best?
Dry handling where you need to feel what you are doing. The coating is thin, so grip and dexterity are good and they are the usual pick for assembly, picking and light construction. They are not the glove for oil or for anything wet.
How are they priced?
Most are sold by the case rather than the pair, and the pack size is in the product name. The price shown is for the whole pack, ex VAT.
