Paper & Wipes — common questions

Straight answers about what we stock, how it is sold and which standard applies.

What is the difference between centrefeed, C-fold and jumbo?

How it is dispensed. Centrefeed pulls from the middle of a roll and suits workshops and kitchens where people need a variable length. C-fold hand towels are single sheets from a wall dispenser, which controls usage and suits washrooms. Mini jumbo is a large core toilet roll for high traffic washrooms, so it lasts longer between changes. Check what your existing dispensers take before switching.

Is 2 ply worth it over 1 ply?

For hand towels, yes, because people take fewer sheets. Clothing House stocks C-fold both ways: 1 ply green in packs of 2760 and 2 ply white in packs of 2400. Compare on cost per person per day rather than cost per case, because a thinner towel that gets used two at a time is not cheaper.

What are the rags for?

Wiping and mopping up where a paper towel is not enough and a cloth would be thrown away. White cotton sheet rag is the cleanest option and comes in an 8kg bale, suited to paint and finishing work. Coloured towelling and mixed T-shirt rag are more absorbent and cheaper, for oil, grease and general workshop use.
