What is different about mechanics kit?
Oil is the deciding factor. Latex degrades in it, so nitrile and PU coated gloves do the work, and disposable nitrile handles the short dirty jobs. Footwear wants an oil resistant sole, and coveralls or bib trousers keep the worst of it off. Bump caps beat helmets under a vehicle, where the hazard is what you sit up into.
